CLEVELAND -- David Murphys return helped give the Cleveland Indians a much-needed win. Murphy, activated from the disabled list before the game, drove in the winning run with a bases-loaded, pinch-hit single in the 10th inning and the Indians defeated the Chicago White Sox 2-1 on Friday night. Murphy, who pulled a right oblique muscle on Aug. 9, lined a 1-2 pitch to centre off Ronald Belisario that landed in front of centre fielder Adam Eaton to score pinch-runner Chris Dickerson and give the Indians their 11th walkoff win of the season. Murphy had no opportunity to ease his way back into action after missing nearly a month. His first at-bat came with the game on the line and his team battling to stay in the playoff race. "You never figure that youd be in that situation, but those are the most fun in baseball," he said. The Indians, coming off a series in which they lost three of four against Detroit, are six games behind Kansas City in the AL Central. Cleveland is also a factor in the crowded wild-card race. "Every game is the most important game of the year," Murphy said. "It would be nice to be in a little better spot, but were still in striking distance. We need to go out and win every single day." Murphy was mobbed his teammates, but made sure to protect his rib area. "After I hit first, I thought, oh no, but I think they knew to take it easy on me," he said. Yan Gomes started the inning with a triple to left off Maikel Cleto (0-1). Michael Taylor crashed into the wall trying to make the catch and the ball rolled several feet away. Shortstop Leury Garcia finally retrieved the ball and threw it in as Gomes slid into third. "The desire to want to be at third is what was big," Indians manager Terry Francona said. "Hes not the fastest guy in the world, but right out of the box he was going for it." Michael Bourn was intentionally walked before Eric Surkamp issued an intentional walk to Lonnie Chisenhall that loaded the bases. Surkamp battled back from a 3-1 count to strike out Jason Kipnis before Murphy, batting for Roberto Perez, delivered. C.C. Lee (1-1) worked out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the 10th. Chicago ace Chris Sale allowed one run in six innings, lowering his league-best ERA to 2.09. Indians rookie T.J. House matched Sale, giving up one run and striking out seven in seven innings. Carlos Santanas RBI single in the first gave Cleveland the lead, but Alexei Ramirezs third-inning homer tied the game. Ramirez left the game after being hit on the left foot by a pitch from House in the fifth. White Sox manager Robin Ventura said Ramirez has a bone bruise and its possible he could play Saturday. Ventura expects first baseman Paul Konerko (broken bone in his left hand) to play again this season. The 18-year veteran could resume baseball activities in a week. LINEUP SHUFFLE Bourn and Kipnis -- both left-handed hitters -- werent in the lineup. Bourn is hitless with three strikeouts in five at-bats against Sale while Kipnis is 4 for 14 versus the ace lefty. NEW GUY The Indians acquired OF J.B. Shuck from the Los Angeles Angels on Friday for cash considerations. Shuck, a left-handed hitter, batted .167 in 22 games this season before the Angels designated him for assignment Tuesday. He hit .293 in 129 games last season. TRAINERS ROOM Indians: Murphy came off the 15-day DL on Friday afternoon. He had one hit in six at-bats in two rehab games at Triple-A Columbus on a rehab assignment. UP NEXT Indians: RHP Corey Kluber (13-9) has lost his past three starts. He ranks third in the AL with 215 strikeouts and 195 1-3 innings. John Starks Jersey . "I said Id knock him out," said Stevenson (21-1).Leicester Citys Premier League season has been impressive from start to finish, with Claudio Ranieris side cementing their place in history by winning the title. Every member of the squad has played their part - from the week-in, week-out starters to the bit-part back-ups - and Foxes fans now look forward to a Champions League campaign next season. With the clubs maiden Premier League title secured, Sky Sports asked club legend Alan Smith to rate their key title-winning players out of 10. GOALKEEPERKasper Schmeichel - 8Hes grown in self-belief as the season has gone on. Hes a very competent keeper; I wouldnt say hes one of the best keepers in the league. Hes not on the level of Hugo Lloris and David de Gea, but Schmeichel has done all hes had to and he is a good communicator with his defenders. Theres a good head on his shoulders and all credit to him for coming out the shadow of his father like he has. Hes an excellent goalkeeper in his own right. Kasper Schmeichel has been ever-present for the Foxes so far this season DEFENDERSChristian Fuchs - 8Id seen him play a bit at Schalke, and hes obviously the Austria captain so has come in to the club as a highly experienced player. He couldnt get in at the start - Jeff Schlupp was the left-back - but when he did get in, he hasnt looked back. Hes a tough man to beat in a one-on-one, and hes played his part going forward. That ball in for Vardy in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United was a beauty, so hes done really well. Christian Fuchs is tough to beat in a one-on-one situation Robert Huth - 8Another one who doesnt complicate his game; hes a very physical player. In terms of partnerships, he and Wes Morgan have dove-tailed brilliantly. If youre a centre-forward, hes the sort of player you dont look forward to facing. He grapples with you, he doesnt mess about, doesnt mind going in hard, and hes good positionally. He rarely gets caught for pace... hes not the quickest, but he doesnt often get into those positions where hes in a race with a striker. As weve seen on occasions, hes dangerous at attacking set pieces with his height and power. A great success story of the season. Robert Huth has been a rock at the back for Leicester this season Wes Morgan - 8Although hes the captain, hes not overly well-spoken or vocal. Everybody respects him, and hes in a position now where hes lifting the Premier League trophy after having a fairly unspectacular time at Nottingham Forest. A really good character and a good professional, much like Huth. He dictates things, and if he has to find Row Z, he will. Again, hes not the quickest defender, but between the two centre-backs, theyve not really been exposed. Wes Morgan is a well-respected leader for Leicester Danny Simpson - 8The two full-backs have been great. At one stage, Ranieri decided that he didnt want him bombing on too much - they can every now and again - but Danny concentrates on not getting beaten, and on holding his position. Hes done it very well. His career seemed to be heading nowhere - at Newcastle and QPR, it didnt take off - but here hes grabbed it with both hands. Hes not an attacking full-back in the mould of Hector Bellerin, but he is a top defender, very determined. He had a setback when he was sent off at Arsenal, but hes bounced back from that and has done really well. A very steady player. Danny Simpson has found a new lease of life at Leicester Ritchie De Laet - 7Ritchie de Laet joined Middlesbrough on loan in January but, before then, he made 12 Premier League appearances for Leicester this season and did his job well, if unspectacularly. It is the mark of a winning side that you have these kind of characters that go under the radar. Ritchie De Laet has been the perfect back-up player for the Foxes MIDFIELDERSMarc Albrighton - 8Hes been incredibly consistent, a regular in that Leicester team. Hes such a hard worker too, gets up and down. He protects and works really well with Christian Fuchs, and delivers a very good cross as well. Hes got this great ability to float a ball over the head of the centre-half and into the path of Jamie Vardy. He doesnt play a complicated game, he keeps it fairly simple, but hes been extremely effective. Marc Albrighton has been a regular for Leicester this season NGolo Kante - 10Hes been an absolute revelation. Nobody had really heard of him and the way he acclimatised to the Premier League almost straight away when he came into the team was impressive. Claudio Ranieri played Gokhan Inler initially, but he swapped about and Kante came into the side. He played wide against Stoke that day in September, and hes not looked back since. He covers the ground so quickly and effectively, almost glides across the ground. Hes so quick over 5-10 yards and is a great reader of the game. He can intercept withhout needing to tackle, but he doesnt mind a tackle either.ddddddddddddIve hardly seen him have a bad game. NGolo Kante rarely has a bad game and glides across the ground Danny Drinkwater - 9Hes just been brilliant. Hes not a youngster but he knows that midfield role and whats expected of him. Hes a good passer of the ball and likes to hit that long one to Vardy down the channel; he doesnt have to look up often, theyve got a good understanding. Hes got a good partnership with NGolo Kante as well, as a double act they dove-tail perfectly. They feed off each other and suit one another. Hes just been great. Danny Drinkwater has created a brilliant partnership with Kante in midfield Nathan Dyer - 7.5I commentated on the huge game against Aston Villa, when Dyer scored a massively important goal. He scored the winning goal in a 3-2 victory, which signalled the end for Villa and almost the start of things for Leicester. He showed a lot of bravery. I think some people at Swansea were surprised they let him go out on loan. He hasnt had much of a chance but that goal secured three points and you look back at the end of the season and these moments are huge. On loan from Swansea, Nathan Dyer scored a very important goal against Villa Andy King - 7.5I like Andy. Its been hard because hes been a regular before now but has had to step down and be a support act, but hes done it very well when called upon. Hes a very good finisher, as proved by his goals-to-game ratio for Leicester. Hes a hard-worker too, and a very, very good squad player. Andy King has proven to be a great back-up option Riyad Mahrez - 10What can you say? Hes a special player that gets people out of their seats. Hes so exciting and so positive when he gets on the ball. He looks about eight stone soaking wet but hes got that wiry strength about him and is hard to bully. Hes got great balance and change of direction, and of course his goals - hes scored more away from home than at the King Power, and theyve been big goals as well. Invaluable player. Leicesters Riyad Mahrez won the PFA Player of the Year award in April Jeffrey Schlupp - 7.5Hes had to take a step down and has spent large portions of the season on the bench, but he came in the other day and put in an excellent shift against Swansea, as he did when he won the penalty against West Ham - it was a vital point there. Hes very quick and very strong. Hes a good man to have on the bench and bring on. Jeff Schlupp hasnt played every game, but won an important penalty against West Ham STRIKERSLeonardo Ulloa - 7.5He has had a good season. Hes had to play the support act and is a different sort of player to Vardy. Hes a back-to-goal man and was excellent against Swansea the other day. Ulloa has scored some big goals: that penalty against West Ham and then two against Swansea last week. He is the classic sub who is always ready when called upon. He doesnt sulk, keeps his chin up and is always ready for the challenge. Leonardo Ulloa was magnificent against Swansea and has scored important goals Shinji Okazaki - 7.5Hes impressed, particularly in the last 10 or 15 games when hes played a big part. Youll rarely see a player run around as much. His perpetual motion, he never stops. He always gets subbed off with about 20 minutes to go; Ranieris attitude is, Let him run himself ragged and hassle opponents, and then when he starts to tire, Ill bring him off. He drops in, helps the midfield and allows Vardy to push on. Hes played more than his part in Leicesters amazing season. Shinji Okazakis work-rate has made him a valuable member of the squad Jamie Vardy - 10Hes been a whirlwind, hasnt he? Vardy has gone from strength to strength… no worries about his reputation, no fear, he grabs games by the scruff of the neck and what a fine finisher he is. Hes obviously got great pace, but he can finish with his left and his right foot. Its not a flash in the pan - you think, Hes come from non-League, is it a one-season wonder? but I dont think so with him, hes just been a late developer.Hes a top-class striker. He will be important for England at Euro 2016 this summer too. Youd expect him to have a role off the bench, but hes the last person you want to face in the last 20 minutes of a match with his strength and aggression. Hes in dreamland after where he came from.
